“Wisdom is good with an inheritance, and profitable to those who see the sun. For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, but the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.”
Both money and wisdom are desirable and powerful. It is not ideal to just have money; wisdom and discretion for how to use it are just as important. Wisdom is especially good for those who have a right perspective on life, “those who see the sun.”
Look around the world and in the news today and you will see how money is definitely a defense. The more money a person has, the better they are able to protect themselves in almost any situation. But money and wealth is not fail-proof.
Knowledge and wisdom are even more powerful and reliable. You can see this in the world too.
But for the Christian, this is even more true. Wealth is fleeting and exclusive to some, but wisdom is abundant for those who seek it and anyone can obtain it. It “gives life to those who have it.”
Wisdom is great when one sees the sun,
And money is great for getting things done.
But when you compare the two side-by-side,
Wisdom is better you will decide.
